CBU cars are Completely Built Up cars that are assembled by manufacturers before being sent to distributors or official brand owners in several destination countries in the world.
As the name implies, CBU cars that are imported directly from abroad are in perfect condition because they have been assembled in their country of origin when assembled. The development of CBU cars in Indonesia
In 2020 it experienced a fall due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, then from 2021 to 2022, imports of CBU cars have again become legal in Indonesia and have increased by up to 38.8 percent. The CBU or Completely Built Up car brand that was imported the most was the Toyota car brand with a total of 17,518 units in the January-November 2021 period yesterday.
After that, it was followed by several other car brands which were also imported into Indonesia, such as the Mitsubishi Motors brand with 9,043 units, the Suzuki brand with 4,592 units, the Mazda brand with 3,207 units, and the Hyundai brand with 2,486 units. Most of the vehicles imported throughout 2021 are dominated by CBU or Completely Built Up cars from Japan. Because CBU or Completely Built Up cars from Japan, ranging from Toyota, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, to Mazda, are in great demand by many people because the prices are more affordable, but the quality they offer is very satisfying and good.
List of best-selling CBU cars in Indonesia
The following is a list of CBU or Completely Built Up cars in Indonesia which were the best-selling cars based on data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO).
1. Toyota Hilux
The Toyota Hilux car is included in the list of CBU or Completely Built Up Toyota cars which are also one of the best-selling in Indonesia.
Toyota Hilux is a car with a double cabin type with complete features:
- diesel engine 2GD-FTV,
- VNTurbo Intercooler,
- 4 cylinder in line,
- 16-valve,
DOHC with a capacity of 2,393 cc

Suzuki Baleno is a type of hatchback car produced in India and then imported directly by Indonesia in one piece.

4. Mitsubishi Triton
