Wow, it’s getting more sophisticated!
Afeela EV is a collaboration from Honda and Sony. Sony and Honda became partners in 2022 when the Japanese giants announced plans to work together on an EV. The duo has founded a new company, called Sony Honda Mobility, and their first car is Afeela. Exhibited at the 2024 Consumer Electric Show (CES) (9/1/24) in Las Vegas, the electric car which is planned to be released in 2026 is causing a stir.
How come? The car walked the CES stage by simply controlling a PlayStation 5 DualSense controller.
The Afeela EV itself was first exhibited at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The car has a futuristic design with smooth and sleek lines.
The Afeela EV is also equipped with various advanced features, including a front-wheel drive system, MacPherson strut independent suspension at the front and rear, ventilated disc brakes at the front and rear, a regenerative braking system, a satellite navigation system, a touchscreen entertainment system, a Bose audio system, and active and passive safety systems.
The plan is that the car, with a cruising range of 500 km on one charge, will compete with various other sedan electric cars on the market, such as the Tesla Model 3, BMW i4, and Mercedes-Benz EQE.
